Our board certified medical staff is made up of experienced, well trained physicians with backgrounds in emergency medicine, internal medicine and family practice.
Our professional staff consists of medical assistants, registered x-ray technologists, laboratory assistants, professional and friendly office personnel.
Dr. John King
Dr. John King was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama. He graduated Emma Sansom High School in 1976. He attended Marion Military Institute from 1976 to 1978. He earned a degree in Biology and Chemistry from Birmingham Southern College in 1980. After graduating college he completed his medical degree in 1985 at St. Georges University of Medicine. He completed an externship in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and an Internship in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. He then attended the University of Alabama where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1987.
Immediately after completing the Internal Medicine Residency he entered a Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care Fellowship Program at Ochsner Medical Foundation. It was during this time that his Emergency Medicine experience began in South Louisiana’s Emergency Departments. After completing his Fellowship and having worked in the Houma and Thibodaux area, Dr. King decided to relocate there with his wife and 2 children. He has been on the staff of Chabert Medical Center for the last 16 years.
His decision to open Thibodaux Urgent Care began while working in the Emergency Departments; realizing the area’s need for efficient, reliable, prompt, competent medical care. Dr. King is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary/Critical Care. He brings 21 years of experience, as well as, his caring, professional demeanor to Thibodaux Urgent Care.
